Sandra trained as an actress at LAMDA (London Academy for Music and Dramatic Art) on the 3 year acting diploma course and graduated in 1998. She has been working as a professional actress since then. Although English is Sandra’s first language, she does also speak both German and Italian and this has enabled her to work in all three countries.

Sandra was born of an Italian father and German mother. Her father, Sandro Paternostro, was a highly regarded journalist who worked as the foreign correspondent for RAI for over 25 years. It was during his time in Germany where he met Sandra’s mother Karin in Bonn. The couple travelled the world and had their first son Roberto in Hong Kong and 5 years later Sandra was born in London; where the family eventually settled.

Sandra was educated in Hertfordshire, where she went to boarding school, but at the weekends her father would take her to the West End to go to the theatre. This is where she got her passion for acting and knew from a very early age what she wanted to do, despite her father's wishes for her to follow in his footsteps!

Sandra has set up Indepedent English Theatre- a professional English speaking theatre company based in Rome.

Sandra ha studiato recitazione alla LAMDA (London Academy for Music & Dramatic Art) per 3 anni diplomandosi nel 1998 e da allora lavora come attrice. Nonostante l’inglese sia la sua prima lingua, parla sia il tedesco che l’italiano, cosa, questa, che le dà l'opportunità di lavorare in più di un paese.

Sandra è nata da padre italiano e madre tedesca ed è figlia del noto giornalista Sandro Paternostro che fu corrispondente per la RAI per più di 25 anni, periodo durante il quale a Bonn egli conosce Karin, la mamma di Sandra. La coppia viaggia in tutto il mondo ed ha il loro primo figlio Roberto a Hong Kong; 5 anni dopo, a Londra, dove la famiglia si stabilisce, nasce Sandra.

Sandra frequente un collegio a Hertfordshire, ma ogni weekend suo padre la porta a teatro al West End di Londra. E' qui che inizia la passione di Sandra per il teatro, passione di cui la ragazza è consapevole fin da allora, nonostante il desiderio del padre per una figlia che segua le sue orme!

Sandra ha inoltre fondato una compagnia teatrale a Roma in lingua inglese.
